(Ignoring the fact it has a 707 cubic inch engine)
This kickass, 104-year-old machine has 43 inch wheels. Pretty big.
But then you realize that this abomination has 40 inch wheels.
So, yeah, ignoring the fact that it has four running boards and 60 HP (lots for 1910), the 1910 Oldsmobile Limited Touring is rather large.

Was there a particular reason for the giant wings or was it just style during the time?

Probably the style of the times, plus rain & unpaved roads at that time ment mud slinging.
